The Village Egglescliffe is situated on high ground on the most easterly crossing point of the Tees at Yarm. It has a history dating back to Norman times and retains its cross and village green. Egglescliffe is surrounded by the more modern Eaglescliffe. Together they have a population of 8000. The name probably comes from the Ecqui's hill. The Hall Originally built as a school in 1851 the hall is of a brick construction with a slate roof. It has later extensions with flat roofs. It is heated by gas fan assisted convector heaters.
