The Village
Brotton perhaps meaning town on the brow of a hill was mentioned in Doomsday Book and lies 6 miles north east of Guisborough. Discovery of ironstone in the 19th Century resulted in big increases in population and prosperity. Currently 5500 people live in the settlement.
The Hall
Built in 1985, the hall is a purpose built community centre of brick and tile. The hall has recently undergone improvements and there are plans for further work. The building is heated by gas fired ducted warm air and electric panel convectors.
