Eaglescliffe Village Hall
|
The Village
Eaglescliffe, across the River Tees from Yarm, surrounds the older Egglescliffe. It expanded in the 19th century and local tradition suggests that its name developed from a miss spelling of a local railway sign. Eaglescliffe and Egglescliffe together have a population of around 8000.
The Hall
The hall was built in 1893 as a Methodist Church. It is built of brick with a slate roof and has modern brick extensions with a flat roof. It is heated by gas fired central heating radiators.
