About The Tees Valley

Tees Valley stretches from west Darlington along the valley of the Tees to the estuary at Picture of farming in the tees valleythe North Sea coast. Surprising to some, agricultural and rural landscapes predominate. The industrial heritage remains in the ex ironstone mining villages but heavy industry itself is now relegated to a confined area of the river estuary and many areas have never been touched by industry.

Village Halls in the Tees Valley are major resources to the communities they serve. Some halls provide intimate spaces for local people to meet to celebrate events such as birthday parties, fetes and even wakes. Other halls are large multipurpose buildings hosting a wide range of educational, welfare, sports and leisure activities. With the closure of other village facilities, halls have increased in importance and may also be the base for post offices or health clinics.
