Tees Valley Village Halls Network supported in partnership by European Union - European Social Fund, Tees Valley Rural Community Council and Learn NorthEast 

 

 

Tees Valley Village Halls Network aims to support the work of the voluntary committees of village halls and other community buildings in the Tees Valley through the sourcing and provision of

·        Advice

·        Guidance

·        Information

·        Education and

·        Training

The Network also seeks grant funding for its activities. Membership is open to village hall and rural community buildings management committees: the annual membership fee is £10 per hall.

 

The Network is managed by a Steering Committee with representatives from halls in the five unitary authority areas in the Tees Valley i.e. Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton.

Coming Activities and Events


Tees Valley Village Halls Network supports its training events with lively and informed discussions, The Training Workshops for the members of Village Hall and Community Building Management Committees have proved very popular. Participants have told us they thoroughly enjoyed the sessions, learnt a lot and had been encouraged and inspired by meeting committee members from other halls.    

 

The Secrets of Success – Managing a Refurbishment Project   followed by a Network Members Quiz Night– Monday 13th September, 2010, 7.00pm – 9.00pm The Wilson Centre, Long Newton TS21 1DD  

The Wilson Centre raised £280,000 to fund a refurbishment of the hall and they are eager toshare the secrets of their succeass in working with the community and funding agencies to achieve a 21st century hall with green energy to boot! Don’t miss this one!

Hallmark Training – Tuesday October 19, 2010, 7 to 9pm at Elwick Village Hall, TS27 3EF (near Hartlepool, off the A19)

Join the premier league of village halls in the Tees Valley by finding out how to achieve Hallmark accreditation: the standard for a well managed hall which gives reassurance to the committee and a benchmark for hirers.

Come and share what’s new in village hall management this year – new regulations, potential savings and fundraising ideas. Always a popular event: make sure you are there too!

Village Hall Policies – Monday December 6, 2010, 7 to 9pm at Charltons Village Hall, East Cleveland TS12 3DB

Policies guide the committee through the maze of managing the hall. What policies have you got – what policies do you need? Come and find out the answers and get your hands on template policy documents for you to customise for your hall.
