There are thirteen Darlington halls that are part of TVRCC's Tees Valley Village Halls project.  They range from Whessoe on the edge of the town to the isolated hamlets of Summerhouse, Killerby and Denton.
Darlington's villages are mostly set in the rural agricultural land of the Pennine hinterland with Piercebridge, High Conniscliffe, Hurworth and Neasham on the banks of the River Tees as it meanders its way across the Durham plain to the estuary.  The picturesque villages welcome visitors and tourism, agriculture and work in the Tees Valley towns are the main sources of employment.
